About 48 percent of the 179 degrees and certificates handed out by the Northwest University-College of Adult and Professional Studies in 2016-17 were to students in Theology and Religious Vocations programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in Kirkland conferred 36 bachelor's degrees and 20 associate's degrees in Theology and Religious Vocations programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in Theological and Ministerial Studies, Other. Data shows the school gave out 36 bachelor's degrees in Theological and Ministerial Studies, Other, followed by 21 bachelor's degrees in Business Administration and Management, General and 20 associate's degrees in Theological and Ministerial Studies, Other.

The university enrolled 966 students for 2016-17, including 882 in undergraduate programs and 84 in graduate programs.
