About 33.9 percent of the 1,498 degrees and certificates handed out by the Yakima Valley College in 2016-17 were to students in Health Professions and Related Programs programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Yakima conferred 347 certificates and 128 associate's degrees in Health Professions and Related Programs programs.

But the single most popular program was for a associate's degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies. Data shows the school gave out 492 associate's degrees in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies, followed by 205 certificates in Medical Office Assistant/Specialist and 123 certificates in Early Childhood Education and Teaching.

The college enrolled 4,101 students for 2016-17, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
