About 35 percent of the 1,920 degrees and certificates handed out by the Highline College in 2016-17 were to students in Liberal Arts and Sciences, General Studies and Humanities programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Moines conferred 673 associate's degrees in Liberal Arts and Sciences, General Studies and Humanities programs.

But the single most popular program was for a associate's degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies. Data shows the school gave out 673 associate's degrees in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies, followed by 154 certificates in Early Childhood Education and Teaching and 126 certificates in Home Health Aide/Home Attendant.

The college enrolled 6,750 students for 2016-17, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
