About 20.4 percent of the 7,807 degrees and certificates handed out by the Washington State University in 2016-17 were to students in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Pullman conferred 1155 bachelor's degrees and 299 master's degrees in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in Psychology, General. Data shows the school gave out 403 bachelor's degrees in Psychology, General, followed by 373 bachelor's degrees in Social Sciences, General and 366 bachelor's degrees in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse.

The university enrolled 30,142 students for 2016-17, including 24,904 in undergraduate programs and 5,238 in graduate programs.
