About 12.5 percent of the 3,820 degrees and certificates handed out by the Western Washington University in 2016-17 were to students in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Bellingham conferred 453 bachelor's degrees and 24 master's degrees in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in Psychology, General. Data shows the school gave out 169 bachelor's degrees in Psychology, General, followed by 152 bachelor's degrees in Computer and Information Sciences, General and 134 bachelor's degrees in Sociology.

The university enrolled 15,574 students for 2016-17, including 14,592 in undergraduate programs and 982 in graduate programs.
