About 16.5 percent of the 2,848 degrees and certificates handed out by the Eastern Washington University in 2016-17 were to students in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Cheney conferred 441 bachelor's degrees and 30 master's degrees in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management, General. Data shows the school gave out 174 bachelor's degrees in Business Administration and Management, General, followed by 145 bachelor's degrees in Multi-/Interdisciplinary Studies, General and 134 bachelor's degrees in Psychology, General.

The university enrolled 12,279 students for 2016-17, including 11,217 in undergraduate programs and 1,062 in graduate programs.
