Analysis: University of Washington-Seattle ranked most selective of Washington schools

University of Washington-Seattle was ranked the most exclusive school in Washington, according to a new study by the website 24/7 Wall St. that examines acceptance rates and characteristics of university students nationwide.

University of Washington-Seattle has an acceptance rate of 46.4 percent, and 75 percent of its students have SAT scores above 1190. The yearly net cost to attend the campus $9,443.

To determine the most selective universities in each state, 24/7 Wall St. examined the National Center for Education Statistics’ data on four-year schools, as well as other sources.

Some schools on the list are large campuses receiving tens of thousands of student application forms and approving only a fraction of the total. Other universities are small, private schools with high tuitions.
