16.1% of households in Rainier received food stamps in 2017


Rainier ranked 256th in Washington for the percentage of households receiving food stamps in 2017, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau in August.

126 of 785 Rainier households (16.1 percent) received food stamps. Rainier's population reached 2,345 people in 2017.

The cities with the largest percentage of households receiving food stamps in the state were Acme, Outlook. In these cities, 100 percent of households received foodstamps - 83.9 percent more than Rainier.

The city with the lowest percentage of households receiving food stamps in the state was Yarrow Point, which had 2 of 430 households receiving food stamps, 15.6 percent less than Rainier. In 2017 the population of Yarrow Point was 1,184.
