The 17th Annual Hoosier Star competition took place on Saturday, September 17th at the Civic Auditorium in La Porte. Ten finalists competed for the title of "2022 Hoosier Star" in the Youth and Adult divisions.

"This year's Hoosier Star was incredibly competitive," said LCSO Executive Director, Tim King. "Every finalist performed beautifully in front of the La Porte County Symphony Orchestra." The finalists hailed from six different communities and performed before a live audience as well as those watching online via live stream. Thanks to platinum sponsors, Horizon Bank, NIPSCO, Northwest Health, and Duneland Media for their support.

The 2023 Hoosier Star auditions will take place next spring on Saturday, March 18 and Sunday, March 19.
